Joy is a registered midwife and former registered nurse. She has worked as a qualified midwife for the past 13 years. Joy worked for many years in the NHS and currently works independently, which means she can meet the needs of her clients more flexibly. Joy has a small midwifery caseload, provides doula-type birth support, and also run “Birthing From Within” birth preparation classes.
She believes women have the innate ability to grow, birth, and nourish their babies. What we as professionals can add is to impart accurate information so women can make truly informed choices about the care they require.
Joy works with other practitioners in our holistic health practice, to provide women with information to enable them to maintain their own health, and that of their families.
At the Red Brick Joy offers:
A weekly pregnancy drop-in group where women learn and support each other in their journeys to parenthood.
A pregnancy drop-in clinic where you can discuss any aspect of your antenatal or postnatal care.
Confidential one to one appointments lasting an hour. These are private midwifery consultations for individual birth planning, debriefing previous birth experiences, planning for breech birth or vaginal birth after caesarean (VBAC), or natural ways to encourage labour in post-dates pregnancy.
We also offer workshops on topics from pregnancy care and birth preparation, to life with a new baby.
All sessions are priced as suggested donations to provide accessibility to all.
