Amanda Rothwell qualified as a Traditional Acupuncturist in 2007, following 4 years degree level study at the College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, graduating with a Licenciate in Acupuncture (Lic.Ac) and BSc (Hons) Acupuncture from Kingston University.
Her 10 year career in Chinese Medicine is complemented with 18 years experience as a Registered General Nurse, following training and graduation from St George’s Hospital and King’s College, London, in 1994 with BSc (Hons) Nursing Studies. Amanda no longer practices as a nurse as Acupuncture Practice now occupies all of her working life. Amanda is a Member of the British Acupuncture Council (MBAcC), thereby bound by codes of professional conduct. She finds herself evermore passionate about acupuncture as the day she qualified.
For the past 7 years Amanda has established her private acupuncture practice at Chalice Leaze Clinic, Glastonbury, (www.chaliceleazeclinic.co.uk) witnessing the health restoring benefits of Chinese medicine unfold, year after year amongst the patients she treats from different walks of life, ages, and genders.
Now new to this setting Amanda offers Red Brick Community Acupuncture, where several patients can be treated within the practice room at the same time. This style of multibed-community clinic is an increasing popular way to receive acupuncture the world over (see www.acmac.net). Here, affordability is prioritised to enable accessibility, a keystone of a thriving community. As important as the reduced cost of treatment, however, is the uniquely nurturing atmosphere patients report when being treated together in the same room, whilst privacy and dignity are respected.
Embodying an integrated approach to wellbeing, with many years experience in conventional and Chinese medicine, Amanda offers Traditional Acupuncture as a contemporary healthcare choice to those in her case load. Having helped many people feel better and lead more fulfilling lives, she dedicates this new clinic to the evolution of a healthier, happier community and improved standards of Traditional Acupuncture provision here in the UK.
